Daily(ish) Blog Post [#5] - "Last Friday Night"

 Hello all!

(As you may have guessed.. today's song that's stuck in my head while writing this blog is Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night". )

As for what happened today.. it was pretty mundane. Like.. nothing interesting really happened. Well, except for a few things.

You see, I get quite distressed whenever someone steals something of mine or misplaces it, like any other human being.. except I get REALLY worried.

It's something I've always done. Thinking about the worst-case scenario. Always.

Anyways, someone stole a glue-stick of mine. A. Fucking. Glue-stick. (Well they actually only stole the lid of it.) I was super afraid that I'd have to throw the whole thing in the bin as it'd make my bag a sticky mess, luckily some classmates had actually retrieved it and (thankfully) my glue-stick was saved! (told you today was pretty mundane.)

Here's some more things that happened:

1. My friend, who I had found out yesterday was a fan of The Last Leg, requested me to send a link to Adam Hills' "Best Foot Forward". I assume they're going to buy it.. or not. Depends on whether I get an answer back.

2. I've noticed lately that I've been feeling more confident.. mentally I mean. I'm quite a social person but holy shit have I been more confident with talking to people lately. I like this new me. Very, very, VERY much.

As I'm writing this blog currently, it's around quarter to ten. I have just finished doing one part of my coursework and then I need to do another part. I also just remembered I forgot to do my English homework.

Oh well.

I've also decided to binge-watch the show "Death In Paradise", which is probably going to be my go-to from now on whenever I want to study/do homework and have something on in the background, which is nice.

However, it's almost time to go to sleep so..

Once again, goodnight!

Daily(ish) Blog Post [#4] - "Wild Heart"

Hello all!

Wow, it's been a while.. hasn't it. I can't really maintain things properly, it seems.

I will try and give you a summary of the week, though I do (again) have an extremely bad memory (a mixture of tiredness & stress, I think) so some of the details will be quite vague.

Monday - A Recap

So, Monday was normal. Went to school, had classes, y'know.. the usual. I don't remember much, however.. I was FINALLY able to order a copy of Adam Hills' book, "Best Foot Forward"! (It was 50% for the pictures and 50% for the stories.)

Tuesday - A Recap

On a Tuesday, I stay in for MUCH longer than usual because of extra tuition.. so I was SUPER eager when I found out my copy of "Best Foot Forward" had arrived that day.. honestly I was considering skipping the session just to read that book.

I ended up reading around two-thirds of the book in one sitting. Mad, right?

Honestly though, while I won't give a full review of the book (I haven't even finished it yet..)

I will say this: I'm currently enjoying it.. VERY MUCH. It's got loads of stories from him starting his career in stand-up and his career in radio! It's also got some pictures in it, which I thought were pretty cool.

Wednesday - A Recap

So I had decided to take the Best Foot Forward on a little adventure. This was mainly for one reason: To finish reading it. You see, I have two other books that I've been meaning to finish, however I haven't gotten around to doing so, unlike this book.

My logic was basically this: Finish the Adam Hills' book, do the rest & then re-read the Adam Hills' book.

Me reading the book was also how I was able to find out that a friend of mine actually watches The Last Leg! I've literally never been able to find someone who actually has a proper(ish) interest that is the same as mine! Now I've got a Last Leg Buddy! (Yes I'm calling them that.)

As of right now, I'm almost done with the book. Only several more chapters to go.

I was meant to also do some coursework today, but I got kinda sidetracked with the fact that The Sims 4 became freely available for me to download. So I played that instead.

Who knows when I'll ever actually do something in the way I intended it to? Honestly though, the fault is on me, I can't seem to get the motivation needed, and when I do, it always feels.. too late for me to do anything.

Oh well.

Until next time,

- M

(p.s: This is titled "Wild Heart" because it's the current song that is stuck in my head. Expect the next posts to be titles from various songs.)

Daily(ish) Blog Post [#3] - "Monotonous"

Hello!

Do excuse my tardiness of posting. I've been busy.. scrolling through Twitter. (and fangirling over Adam Hills, but that's besides the point.)

I've been getting off to somewhat of a strong start, since i've actually started submitting my homework in on time. For some reason, we've been given like DOUBLE the homework than we did last year.. I get that it's important but c'mon man... let me just chill.

Anyways, enough complaining, i'll tell you what i've been doing for the past two weeks. (Short answer: almost nothing.) I've got a pretty bad memory, so I'll actually just tell you what happened yesterday & today.

Monday - A Recap

When I first came in, I didn't have my pencil case with me, I assumed I had left it at home while completing something, so I didn't think much of it. Turns out I had lost it.

My timetable for that day was SUPER boring. And I mean SUPER. FUCKING. BORING. I spent most of the day trying ever so hard not to fall asleep.

I don't remember much of what happened after that, I wasn't feeling great emotionally, so I spent that evening endulging myself in some Hillsy content. (sad, I know.)

Tuesday - A Recap

Came in, felt pretty shit. (A culmination of feelings from yesterday.) Had two hours of Computer Science, did some programming and whatnot (I mostly looked at Wikipedia, because that's what I do when I'm bored). I also found my pencil case. Turns out, I had correctly guessed where I left it.. and by some stroke of luck, the teacher (or any other students for that matter) hadn't taken it.

Went to Maths, I hadn't fully completed my homework but the teacher let me out since I literally spent over an hour on it (and it got WAY TOO overwhelming for me), I was let off & told it was "Submitted".

Had two hours of English tuition, was pretty boring.

I'd describe the last hour of that tuition session as.. painful. I felt COMPLETELY out of place there, like I didn't really belong in that group. Everyone there at least knew eachother, and I sat like the weirdo in the corner (literally), who didn't really know what the hell was going on. Sad thing is, these are compulsory.

Oh well. I'm gonna have to keep attending. Hopefully I'll start to take a liking to these sessions...

As I'm writing this blog post, it's currently 9:34 PM. I've been wanting to start studying during my free time, but I'm finding it quite hard.. I don't really know how to motivate myself? I'm probably gonna spend the rest of the night watching YouTube or browsing Twitter.. so:

Goodnight!

Daily Blog Post [#2] - "Not Much To Talk About"

Hello all!

Today was pretty normal, not much happened.

I had a pretty boring day, according to my timetable. I won't go into much detail about it, since it's well.. boring.

Finished my homework for the week. Well... most of it. I can't really finish all of it because it's online & the site that we usually use doesn't work anymore. So that's great.

I've been meaning to finish off watching Ghosts (as to prepare for the upcoming fourth season that's premiering on friday) and for some reason I just end up scrolling through twitter or watching episodes of The Last Leg on my laptop.

I've actually been meaning to finish off loads of shows & movies. It took me TWO months to finish watching "How I Met Your Mother", and I still haven't finished the 1950's version of "A Secret Life of Walter Mitty". Keep in mind that I started to watch that in June. June.

Ah.. the joys of procrastination, I guess.

I'm keeping this short, since I don't have much to talk about, so enjoy this picture of Adam Hills & Josh Widdicombe.

Goodnight, all!

Daily Blog Post [#1] - "A Totally Normal Day"

Hello!

Today's blog will be a bit short, but that's only because not much happened today that I can really.. talk about. (nothing bad happened though, don't worry!)

Had a long weekend off from school, which was pretty nice. Today was my first day back in.

I had a whole two hours of Computer Science on my timetable, then some boring old core subjects. They've made my timetable kinda weird now. I used to have a pretty cool day of (mostly) my favourite subjects on this day, but after the last school year, they've changed it. Kinda sad, honestly, since I was really looking forward to having a whole day jampacked with subjects that I really love..

Oh well, not all good things last, I guess. I also forgot that I had a mandatory after-school class today as well (everyone has one, not just me).

The school day overall was pretty boring, there was also the fact that I could barely walk at times because my knee has been absolutely killing me for the past 4-5 days. I think I need to get it checked out. In fact, as I'm writing this blog post, it's just started hurting again..

I've been mostly fine mentally, though I'm kinda stressed as to what course I want to apply for, especially since I have only a couple months to do so. I had a Careers Appointment last week, in which I told the Advisor that I had wanted to do a Graphics Design course. She recommended me some courses at the local colleges/sixth forms, and sent me an email containing all the information that I needed.

I don't really know what to do, to be honest with you. I'm never good at making decisions, let alone making one as big as this. I've been assured that I CAN change the course if I don't like it, but it doesn't really help.

For now however, all I can do can chill & watch some telly.

Noval's Dream Journal - That Time I (almost) Met Adam Hills

So I had a pretty weird dream last night.

It started with me inside this weird night/comedy club? (I don't really know where it was), I was with a bunch of my friends as well, one of them seemed to be sitting next to a button that when pressed made a weird sound? (I can't really describe it to you), if I remember correctly, I think we were planning on pressing it to mess with whoever was on stage (maybe to catch them off-guard??)

Anyways, we had moved to a different table (for no apparent reason, i guess to get a better view ig), I distinctly remember being REALLY excited because guess who was performing?

Adam Hills.

That's right. I dreamt that Adam Hills was performing.

It was at this time that I think I had started to check Twitter and found out that it was actually 1AM in the morning. (I don't know why it was 1AM, I'm pretty sure it was because I had actually fallen asleep at around that time.) I think I was going to take a picture, but because it was a dream, I obviously didn't.

It was at this moment that he came on stage... looking slightly odd.

He was dressed in the same outfit that he chose to wear during the recording of his "Clown Heart" DVD, and for those who don't know what that looks like:

He was dressed EXACTLY like this, but without the dyed hair.
So he basically had a normal, shaved head.

I don't remember him actually performing, more just.. standing there awkwardly? He started to walk around us, I remember at one point trying to get his attention, and didn't really know what to say, so I called him "Sir" and he just walked past me. Despite all this playing out inside of a dream, I think I got somewhat hurt & a bit embarrassed by that..

I don't exactly remember what happened after that.. The last thing I remember was the whole club had now turned into a pool??

And then I woke up. Somehow, it feels as though I MET him, but I didn't. I know I didn't. Or did I?

Maybe I need to take a break from watching him so much... (that sounded less creepy in my head.)
